Our position

Combined Mining opposes forced labour, human trafficking, child labour and other forms of modern slavery. Respect for human dignity, lawful employment and safe work is expected across Combined Mining operations and business relationships.

This page states Combined Mining's current principles. It should not be read as a representation that Combined Mining is legally required to publish a statement under section 54 of the United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act.

Business and supply-chain expectations

  • Work must be freely chosen and workers must be free to leave in accordance with law.
  • Identity documents must not be improperly withheld and recruitment fees must not create coercive debt.
  • Child labour and unlawful discrimination are prohibited.
  • Working conditions must support health, safety, dignity and lawful remuneration.
  • Suppliers should identify, report and address credible human-rights risks.

Risk management

Combined Mining applies proportionate supplier evaluation, contractual expectations and issue escalation according to project, geography, labour model and procurement risk.

Where a credible concern is identified, Combined Mining may seek evidence, require corrective action, suspend engagement or end a relationship, depending on severity and legal obligations.

Reporting

Concerns relating to labour or human-rights practices may be raised through Combined Mining Speak Up or by emailing engineering@combinedmining.co.za.
